I Fablernas Värld - The World of the Fables

I Fablernas Värld - The World of the Fables

A baroque dance and music performance inspired by Jean de La Fontaine’s collection of fables.

Welcome to the world of the fables where different kinds of animals live side by side, all with their own quirks and characteristics. Meet the brave lion, the cunning fox and the nervous little cricket as they try to find their place in society. They discuss and reason, are deceived and argue about important and unimportant things – about who is the best at jumping, how the country should be governed and not least who will get the much sought after French cheese!

A baroque music and dance performance inspired by the 17th-century writer Jean de la Fontaine’s collection of fables. About power, democracy and making your voice heard despite being small.

Suitable for children 6-8 years old.
Performance length 40 min.

Balet Dworski Cracovia Danza

Cracovia Danza Ballet, founded by dancer and choreographer Romana Agnel, is Poland’s only professional court ballet which specialises in Baroque and Old Polish dances. The ballet has been a Municipal Institution of Culture since 2006. The group’s repertoire is inspired by, among others, dance masters' treatises as well as old iconographic sources, and spans the periods from the Middle Ages to modern times.

The Ballet participates in many prestigious events and has performed on the stages of, among others, the Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera in Warsaw, the Warsaw Chamber Opera, the ICE Congress Centre, the National Forum of Music, Teatro di Villa Torlonia in Rome and the Margravial Opera House in Bayreuth, Germany. The group often visits numerous Polish philharmonics, the royal castles at the Wawel Hill, in Warsaw and in Niepołomice, as well as the palaces in Wilanów or Białystok. Cracovia Danza also promotes the Polish culture abroad. It has visited close to 30 countries, including Morocco, France, Russia, Germany, China, Japan and Korea. They are engaged in educational activities, too, by running numerous workshops and lectures.

The ballet organizes a number of its signature events, the most spectacular of which is the international Court Dance Festival held at the turn of July since the year 2000. Within the festival, workshops, presentations, concerts, exhibitions, lectures and large open-air performances in Krakow’s historical spots are held. Another such cyclic project is the TIME FOR DANCE! cycle which takes place once a month and gives audiences a chance to meet distinguished people of the world of dance as well as helps integrate the balletic profession.

NEW : Pecour Académy – Baroque Dance in Paris – 1st edition in 2023

Many of you have asked us : here is finally the announcement of the baroque dance academy that we are organizing at the end of August in Micadanses Paris (France). There is a strong demand for in-depth work on sources, repertoires and the challenges of putting them into practice. Advanced dancers often feel isolated in the different countries where they are located. We wish to give them the opportunity to come together in Paris and to progress in a favorable choreographic environment with Irène Feste, Hubert Hazebroucq and Guillaume Jablonka.

From Aug 26th 2023 to Sep 01st 2023

Kurszeiten: Sa/So 10:00-14:30 Uhr (inkl. 30 Min. Pause)

3-Day International Multidisciplinary Workshop

We are excited to invite you to join us for a special workshop in Berlin in August 2023 that focuses on Physical Action in Performance Making.

Topic: Physical Action in Performance Making

August 11-13, 2023

Berlin, Germany

Who is this program for?

The workshop is open to practising directors of the Physical Theatre, Drama Theatre, Musical Theatre, Choreographers and Circus Directors, working in various genres, techniques, and styles, as well as actors and dancers, interested to acquire reliable director's toolkit to create contemporary professional productions. The in-class session is designed for strong, hardy, disciplined professionals and pre-professionals who are ready to participate from the beginning to the end.

What you will be able to learn:

how to build up images and characters playing with the physical language of movement, relationships with space and partners;

how to connect isolated elements into the whole performance fragments;

how to unfold the actor’s creative nature and freedom in improvisation and spontaneity in the rehearsal process and the training.

This workshop is a simple way that can help you formulate your personal unique approach to work with actors and dancers on performance production, through the intensive practical training based on the Ostrenko Brothers Method of performer's physical training and rehearsal.

Students will be introduced to Meyerhold's "Biomechanics", M.Chekhov's "Psychological Gesture" and Stanislavsky's "Physical Action", with experienced professional practitioners, experts in performing arts pedagogy, directing and practice in multicultural groups and multidisciplinary projects - Ostrenko Brothers.

Ostrenko Brothers Method

The program will also introduce the Ostrenko Brothers' Method, a widely recognized approach to performance that generates innovative productions by utilizing concepts, ideas, and existing play-texts. The method offers the tools and support necessary for performers to reach their full potential.

How is the studying going?

Through a 3-day lab of practical exploration, participants can learn techniques that will help them to add psychological tension, enrich physicality and breathe life into their performances.

Format:

The working language of the program is English. The training is designed as a multidisciplinary intensive lab with participation and practice together with performers from different techniques and countries. Multidisciplinarity and multiculturality are one of the most important principles of our programs. The number of participants is limited. Participation by early booking only.
